Thought for the Week

It is easy to be swayed by the opinions of the world, to follow the fads and the latest conventional wisdom. This is the struggle of the faithful, to remain obedient to the teachings of Christ. In Isaiah 50: 4-9, the Suffering Servant sets his face like “flint”, to follow the Word of God, while in James 3, the author speaks of the need to discipline ourselves, lest our tongues speak evil instead of good!

If we are to follow Christ, we too must set our feet on solid ground, to hold faithful to Christ’s teachings, to set our faces like flint and not to be swayed by the fleeting fads of this world but to embrace the Kingdom in all that we do.
