Our prayers go out to the Al Aqsa Islamic Society and its community as they deal with the hatred demonstrated by the vandal who left a severed pig’s head at the mosque. This act is not just an attempt to demean this Muslim community, but it is an attempt to use fear and hatred as a political tool.
Unfortunately, many leaders, including some religious leaders, continue to incite an anti-Muslim backlash in response to not just the Syrian refugee crisis but the shooting in San Bernardino. This hatred has a trickle down effect and others who harbor hatred in their hearts now feel emboldened to act.
We must condemn these acts of evil and stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters as they are confronted by this hatred!
