On Pentecost Sunday, the young people of Discovery led their church family in worship in what was an incredible witness of the spirit working through a community of faith. After weeks of planning, listening for the message they heard rising from their study of scripture, they shared what was a year-long exploration of what it is to be a child of God, building bridges across faith traditions and personal differences.
They met on Friday for a night of fellowship, playing their favorite game, Romans vs. Christians, enjoying pizza and ice cream sundaes, and finalizing their videos and plans for the service. They met again to run through all of their work early on Sunday. Then after praying together, they welcomed the congregation with special bulletins prepared for an interactive experience during worship.
Their message was one of living into the confusion of our differences as we seek peace and love with all of God’s beloved children.
