Congregational Meeting and Souper Bowl Sunday, February 5, 2017

(The following is an editorial note) The Super Bowl is coming in which the Evil Empire or Cheaters Are Us (the New England Patriots) is playing against the Team from the City that does not Care about Professional Sports (Atlanta Falcons). But my obvious bias aside, there are far more important things going on Sunday, February 5th. Things like: GPC’S CONGREGATIONAL MEETING! WHOOP WHOOP! Followed by the AWARD WINNING GPC SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY!

So even if you aren’t thrilled about the NFL’s game (like me incase you were wondering), there is still plenty to look forward to on February 5th. At the Congregational Meeting called by the Session the Budget for 2017 will be presented to the congregation, the congregational will vote to approve the Pastor’s Terms of Call and also elect a Nominating Committee to nominate candidates for office who will then be elected at the June meeting of the Congregation.

Following the Congregational Meeting, we will gather in the community room where Discovery will be providing lunch for Souper Bowl Sunday where we will raise funds for Hunger Awareness and Advocacy groups.

Then I recommend you go home and turn on Puppy Bowl or some such thing and forget about the other thing going on that night.

(The comments in this post in no way reflect the Leadership of GPC or PCUSA but are the result of a sick Philadelphia sports fan suffering from championship withdraw.)
