On Thursday, April 13th, at 7:30 pm we will gather for the Maundy Thursday Service which will be a Tenebrae Service. Maundy refers to “mandate” and speaks to Christ’s teaching at the Last Supper to love one another. Tenebrae means “shadows” and is a poignant service in which we journey with Jesus from the Last Supper to the Cross, with the accompanying darkness. During the service we also celebrate the Lord’s Supper.
Readings for the Service:
Exodus 12:1–4 (5–10) 11–14 Before the Exodus, the Lord gives instructions for the Passover.
John 13:1–17, 31b–35 Jesus washes the disciples’ feet and gives a new commandment.
