Wednesday Daily Prayers

—Wednesday—

 MORNING PRAYER

OPENING SENTENCES O Lord, open my lips.   And my mouth shall proclaim your praise. Jesus said: Soon it will be the Passover,  and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.

PSALM 5 & 147:1-11

SCRIPTURE READING Jeremiah 17:5-10, 14-17 (18)

CANTICLE  Canticle of Zechariah (Luke 1:68-79)

THANKSGIVING AND INTERCESSION Satisfy us with your love in the morning, and we will live this day in joy and praise. Lord, as daylight fills the sky, fill us with your holy light. May our lives mirror your great love. Your wisdom has brought us into being, and your care guides us on the way of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

LORD’S PRAYER

DISMISSAL May the Lord, who is our peace, give us peace at all times and in every way. Amen. Bless the Lord. The Lord’s name be praised.

MIDDAY PRAYER

PSALM  121

SCRIPTURE READING  Philippians 4:1-13

THANKSGIVING AND INTERCESSION I will call upon God, and the Lord will answer me.  Evening, morning, and at noon I offer my prayers, and the Lord will hear my voice. Blessed Savior, at this hour you hung upon the cross, stretching out your loving arms. Grant that all the peoples of the earth may be drawn to your redeeming love; for your kingdom’s sake. Amen.

LORD’S PRAYER

CANTICLE Gloria in Excelsis (Luke 2:14)

DISMISSAL May the Lord, who is our peace give us peace at all times and in every way. Amen. Bless the Lord. The Lord’s name be praised.

EVENING PRAYER

OPENING SENTENCES O God, come to our assistance.  O Lord, hasten to help us. Mary washed Jesus’ feet with expensive perfume, and they said: This should have been sold, and the money given to the poor. But Jesus said: Leave her alone! She has done a beautiful thing. She has poured the perfume on me to prepare me for my burial.

PSALM 27 & 51

SCRIPTURE READING John 12:27-36

CANTICLE Canticle of Mary (Luke 1:46-55)

THANKSGIVING AND INTERCESSION Receive my prayer as incense, O God, my uplifted hands as an evening sacrifice. Without your breath in us, O God, we wither and are gone. Calm us by your Spirit, and renew your life within us, that we may journey with Christ and come at last to the home he has prepared for us, welcomed in your eternal embrace. In Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
