The Welcome Church is a very interesting partnership between the Presbytery of Philadelphia and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA (Lutheran Church). On the first and last Sundays of the month, worship leaders gather on the Ben Franklin Parkway to offer a worship service and the Lord’s Supper to the homeless community. On Tuesday’s during the week, from 12 to 3:30 they provide space the Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion for prayer, bible study and the Lord’s Supper.
On June 4th (yes I know a busy day) I plan to go down to the worship service and would invite others to join me. The service is at 3 pm at Aviator Park across from the Franklin Institute.
