With the upcoming election in November, we at GPC have the opportunity to participate as engaged citizens. As people of faith, there is a responsibility to be actively involved by voting. In the Presidential Elections of 2012 and 2016 it is estimated that only 58% of eligible voters participated in the election. In the 2014 election, less than 38% of eligible voters participated. Regardless of party affiliation, more must be done to increase participation in our elections. Power Metro congregations are assisting their congregants by providing registration and absentee ballot information as well as offering transportation to the polls on election day. Over the next month, there will be opportunities at church for both getting information and registering, beginning with the picnic on September 16th.
