Beth David is asking for our help. For over 20 years they have been a host congregation for the Interfaith Hospitality Network of the Main Line.
They host a few families for a week at a time at Beth David several times a year.
They are asking for our help for the week of Thanksgiving, Nov 18-25.
There are a number of ways to be of help.
- We could make dinner, take it to Beth David, and eat with the families living there for the week.
- A few of us could hang out with the families for a few hours in the evening.
- We could stay overnight and prepare breakfast in the morning.
- Organize a schedule for members of GPC.
The families will be out during the day, and a van picks them up fairly early in the morning. It is best to have a few people for each of these time slots: dinner, evening, overnight/morning.
If you are interested in doing this as an individual or as a family, please let me know by this Wednesday. People from the Interfaith Hospitality Network are happy to come to GPC and give us some more information about how to be good hosts.
In our commitment to stand by our Jewish neighbors during this very difficult time, let us stand with them by offering hospitality to those experiencing homelessness. What better way to celebrate a week of thanksgiving?
