Experiencing God

We are very excited about the beginning of the church year! This Sunday marks the beginning of what should be a fantastic year of programs and challenges as we strive to truly experience God!

The theme for the year, at least as we start the year, is “Experiencing God”. This year, in particular, we will explore the variety of ways that one can experience God; through nature, through scripture, through prayer, through dreams, through others and more.

This Sunday, we will dive into this theme as Discovery will begin with a special event for their kick off and we ask that the youth be at GPC at 9:30 am. COALESCE will begin at 9:45 am with a program studying John Philip Newell’s The Rebirthing of God.

In October GPC’s Interfaith Contemplative Practices program returns with a new twist. Cathy Cohen, the 2019 Montgomery County Poet Laureate, will help explore the gift of poetry and how our traditions use poetry to experience God.  The first gathering will be on Thursday, September 26th with a dinner at 6:30 and the program beginning at 7 pm.

In November, we are blessed that Dawn Weisbord will be with us for four sessions of QiGong. These sessions will be held on Saturdays in November beginning on the 2nd from 10 to 11 am.

We are looking forward to seeing you at these wonderful events!
