Advent is upon us once again and once again we ponder what happened two thousand years ago in the sleepy village of Bethlehem as well as ponder what the future holds in store for us.

As we read the now familiar scripture passages, we consider what this means for us? How do we lead our lives as we prepare for Christ’s return?

This year for Advent, we will explore the significance of the names of Advent. The four names we will focus on are Zechariah, Elizabeth, Joseph and Mary. These are the names of those who guide the story, so what can we learn about them and God by studying their names?
