Congregational Life

The Congregational Life Committee seeks to provide social activities to build community between friends and members. These activities range from social gatherings to witnessing for social justice.
Some of our events have included:
An evening of wine tasting, gourmet dinner and the Blues hosted at the McGowans’ home.

A community dinner and concert and with jazz vocalist Deb Callahan at the home of Ruth and Morris Williams.
This year the Congregational Life Committee brought Jon Dichter, with pianist and vocalist Tom McClatchy to a dinner and concert event again hosted at the home of Ruth and Morris Williams.

GPCers at the Coalition for Peace ActionWe joined the effort of Coalition for Peace Action on Saturday, March 17th to bring attention to the fourth anniversary of the War in Iraq.  We gathered at Baltimore Pike and Sproul Road with signs, warm mittens, and good spirits.

For the last three years on Mother’s Day, we have partnered with renowned singer Barbara Montgomery and her band for a very special concert to support and honor those mothers and families whose lives are forever changed by gun violence. Barbara Montgomery is the state president of The Pennsylvania Million Moms March and works closely with two groups, Mothers in Charge in Philadelphia and Mothers For Change in Coatesville.

Please check the calendar for dates for future events including a CD release party for songwriter and pianist Brian Gibson, our Music Director; several swim parties; community dinners during the summer; and the popular League of Women Floaters using the Kanzinger’s pontoon boat for an excursion the Schuylkill River.
