As pianist, he got his start at the age of 5 and his first job in Junior High was playing for a Spanish speaking church service. Since then, his church work has cut across denominational and theological lines to include Protestant, Catholic and Jewish services and holidays both as pianist and singer. He has accompanied a wide range of singers from church music and classics to choral groups and school shows. He is the Show pianist for the Bucks County Singers and accompanist/show pianist & vocal coach at the Univ. of the Arts in Philadelphia. Tom has clients requesting dinner music in private parties to performances of numerous solo “shows” for an increasingly demanding circuit of upscale clubs and retirement communities.
As singer, Tom has performed extensively with organizations ranging from Chorale Delaware, Choral Arts Society, Opera Company of Phila., The Philadelphia Orchestra, to cabaret and show material, including soloing with the Pennsy Pops, Ocean City Pops, and the Philly Pops (as a member of the Voices of the Pops ensemble). He sang back-up vocals for Sarah Brightman at the Taj Mahal (Atlantic City, NJ) and the Mann Center for the Performing Arts (Phila.) for her La Luna Tour.
His artistry has taken him to numerous states throughout the USA, as well as overseas in Italy, Portugal, China, and the Turks & Caicos Islands.
He teaches voice and piano at his home, and, in his spare time works on his 3 acre historic farmhouse in Bucks County (circa 1806) which he opens to the public for an Annual History and Arts Event the first Saturday in June. More information may be obtained by viewing his website at www.tombaust.com
